da'ducer apparatus™ the "other" option for mounting your transducer and GPS antenna...
This idea came about when I purchased my Humminbird® 1197c SI Combo....
The transducer for the Humminbird® SI (Side Imaging®) unit is normally mounted on the transom of a boat so that the user can operate the unit while idling around sitting at the console....(it's important to realize here that the transducers in these SI units [Humminbird® and Lowrance®] are designed to operate in a "straight line running parallel to the boat's path")...
Because I spend 99% of my fishing day at the front of the boat running the trolling motor, I wanted my transducer mounted at the front of boat...closer to where I actually sit while fishing....this gives me a better proximity of where the transducer is... in relation to where my baits are....(basically I fish at the front...that's where I wanted my sonar info coming from)...
Some users have mounted their SI tranducers on the lower portion of their trolling motor... but this causes an inherent problem in the new technology of "Side Scan" sonar....turning the trolling motor with the SI transducer attached can cause the images on the SI sonar screen to become "skewed" or blurred....(kinda like making a snow angel in the snow)...
So da'ducer apparatus™ is what transpired to allow me to use my Humminbird® Side Imaging® transducer at the front of my boat without having to attach the transducer to my trolling motor....and as an added benefit....it allowed me to have my GPS antenna in "direct vertical relation" to my transducer giving more accurate waypoint marking ability...
da'ducer apparatus™ will work with other brands of transducers but the cables may have to be run differently...(models for use with Lowrance or other brands that have larger transducer cable connector... click here )
